David is Chairman of Profile Pensions Ltd, a fintech firm, and is co-chair of Pay Plan Ltd the UK’s largest provider of DMPs and focused on serving vulnerable customers.
He has been a tutor and examiner for ICT and ICA since its inception, is ICA Adviser on ethics and is a member of the ICA’s International Advisory Board.
He was part of the team that established FSA (after roles at IMRO and SFA), and set in place the Training and Competence regime and was the first regulator to focus on ethics and culture. He was first CEO of the UK Financial Services Skills Council. He also helped found the Securities Institute (now CISI).
As author of the UK standards on Sustainable Development, he leads UK work on sustainable communities, including the international standards for cities - ISO 37101.
David was educated at Oxford and Cambridge and has written several textbooks on governance, ethics and compliance: including The Compliance Revolution (Wiley 2015) and Corporate Maturity and the Authentic Company (BEP, 2018).
He now lives in the heart of the Lake District and is a regular commentator on TV, Radio and in the press.
